How To Do A Website Rebuild (Using The Webflail Website As An Example)
1 VIDEO, 1 Podcast, 3 Inspo Website, 3 Jobs. Let's go!
Hey Webflailers,
I was speaking to Matt Evans from 8020 agency yesterday and I asked him:
How do agencies choose which webflowers to hire?
There’s a lot of competition to get hired since so many people are now learning the power of Webflow.
Let’s say that an agency has 3 candidates that all have similar skillsets, similar experience, similar time zones - how does an agency judge who to interview?
Matt talked about having a strong digital presence can potentially be the differentiating factor.
Wtf is a strong digital presence?
We talked about how there are Webflowers that we have never met in real life but know them from Twitter/Linkedin but we like, know and trust them and as a result, we would want to work with them.
These people:
✅ Actively participating in the webflow community online by celebrating other people’s wins, ask and answer Webflow questions, come to community events and are seen as a nice human.
✅ Share beautiful work regularly (even if it’s not finished)
✅ Have a profile pic of them so we can clearly put a face to the name!
These might sound like optional extras but I would argue that actually, these facets that make up a strong digital presence can define whether you get an agency job or not!
In fact, when I got hired by Crafted Studio, it’s because I replied to the founder’s newsletter and actively engaged with his content on Twitter. My portfolio wasn’t more special than anyone else’s. But my digital presence meant that he maybe liked, knew and trusted me more so that got me hired.
So, are you sharing your work? Are you actively talking to other webflowers? Is your profile pic currently a cat and no one knows who you are?

This week, I wanted to do something a bit different so I have recorded a video about the build process of the Webflail re-build.
I cover style guides, tabs, relative positioning for footer reveals, using Anime JS, using multi-reference fields in the CMS and more.
Still some work to do with on page SEO, animations and more but it will be done by next week's newsletter! TUESDAY 22nd IT WILL BE IN YOUR INBOX!
Dealing With Imposter Syndrome | With Kaela Williams (replay)
For me, too many people are sleeping on this episode.
The mental health side of freelancing is tough and despite her youthfulness, she is incredibly wise and has sage advice for webflowers young and old about work life balance, imposter syndrome and running an agency.
