Stylescapes: What Are Stylescapes & Why Use Them In The Web Design Process
1 Article, 1 Podcast, 3 Inspo Websites, 3 Webflow Jobs
Hey Webflailers - it’s Jack.
Hard question for you:
How do you deal with rejection?
My mate got rejected from an agency job recently which he really wanted.
He made a website specifically to apply make an interactive and engaging personal experience for agency.
He practiced interview questions
He got people to check his CV and website to give feedback
He didn’t get the job because he didn’t have enough experience for the role.
So, naturally he was gutted.
But he asked why he was rejected, got feedback and now he is applying to other jobs with more knowledge and insight than before.
He could’ve wilted at this rejection and perceived this application as a total failure. He could’ve thought this wasn’t the career for him but he has turned this rejection to his advantage.
Rejection, if embraced, will make you a better freelancer.
ps. I’ve been feeling like an out-of-date bag of microwaved popcorn recently (I’ve been ill) so I’m afraid there is no new podcast this week.
Stylescapes: What Are Stylescapes & Why Use Them In The Web Design Process
Stylescapes are curated moodboards where you can quickly capture words or feelings in to visuals.
You can quickly capture a look and feel through typography, colour, texture and imagery to present cohesive different ideas to a client. This in turn means the new website will be quicker to design and build if the stylescape phase is done right.
REPLAY! How To Communicate With Clients | With Corey Moen
For Episode 8, my guest was Corey Moen, Senior Brand designer at Webflow and Digital Lead at Shapemaker studio.
In the episode we talked about failing to communicate with clients effectively, failing to get buy in from your team, failing to do website checks before hitting launch projects.
I think the lesson from this episode is that even when you are so good at Webflow that Webflow wants to hire you, failures and mistakes still happen.
You are constantly learning from these failures and from this, you grow and develop. So instead of beating yourself up when failures happen, ask yourself what can you learn from them just like Corey has.

Just a wild scroll through particles floating in warm gradient clouds with punchy text to align with the visual storytelling. Just wow.
