11 Lessons I Learnt As A Webflow Freelancer In 2022
1 Article, 1 Podcast, 3 Inspo Websites & 3 Webflow Jobs. Let's Go!
Hey Webflailers - it’s Jack.
Here’s a question I hear a lot that I think needs to be examined:
How Do You Get Clients?
Naturally, clients pay you to do work so in order to keep getting work, you need more clients, right?
I used to think so until I realised that it’s far easier to get MORE work from previous clients than to get new work from new clients.
If you have done a good job for a client, they will like you, know you and trust you with their business. As a result, if they have any other work eg landing pages to build, blogs to be uploaded, website changes to manage etc, it’s far easier for them to get you to do it than find someone else.
You don’t necessarily need more clients to get more work - you might just need more work from past clients.
How do you get more work from past clients?
I recommend showing you care about them. This will keep you top of mind even months after having worked together. Here are some ideas:
Email them every few months to see how they and their business are doing.
You could send them articles/podcasts that you think will help them develop their business.
Send them a Christmas card to say thanks for working together this year.
Hope this helps

How To Choose Your Niche As A Webflower | With Emily Giordano
If you haven’t heard of Emily, why not? She is a Webflow legend. Emily is a huge inspiration to me personally - she is The Great Design Lead podcast host (with over 83 episodes) and aggressively researches guests (so I have gone in researching this episode by the way), she is the founder of Podwork.io for podcasters to find guests and for potential guests to find podcasts to be on, and she is an UX designer and Webflower.
The 3 failures we talk about are:
1) Wanting to be a graphic designer and realising that wasn't what I was most passionate about
2) Having my first big project go poorly at the copywriting and project transfer stage
3) Leaving a job that wasn't right for me without having another job lined up and being scared shitless for about 3 months
3 Inspo Websites
1) Ellentube
2) Ilja Van Eck
3) Youssri Rahman
3 Webflow Jobs
