10K Proposals That Get Accepted
1 Article, 1 Podcast, 3 Inspirational Websites and 3 Webflow Jobs. Baboooom
Hey Webflailer - it’s Jack!
Some updates before we get in to this week’s newsletter:
I applied for a community grant. Here's why (and what's coming for you lovely bunch) 👇
PODCAST
The Webflail podcast is currently an expensive hobby - I pay for a podcast editor and streaming software. I would love to initially cover my costs with grant money but also improve the quality of audio equipment and transcriptions!
YOUTUBE
Soon, I plan on making YouTube content specifically designed to help Webflow freelancers in their first 2 years of freelance work. I think it makes sense to use a visual medium to talk to visually minded people!
ARTICLES
Currently, I have capacity to write 1 article a week to put in the newsletter. I would love it if I could pay other Webflowers to share their Webflow freelance failures, lessons and tools. I could then increase the amount of content that I could produce.
LIVE EVENTS
On the 6th October, some Webflail listeners and Webflow friends are coming to a London based Webflow meetup. We are having pizza and then playing darts and drinking alcoholic beverages until the wee hours. I would love to do more events in person like this!

10K Proposals That Get Accepted: Why Video Walkthroughs Changed My Business (With Real Example)
You know the client already wants to work with you before sending a proposal - you have had a discovery call that went great. You have understood their needs, asked them what the vision for their brand and talked about money up front. You have established the range of prices you will send them so they are not shocked when they see the proposal. So, you just send them a pdf proposal, right?
In the past, I just sent a short proposal because I thought I had got the job already. If the initial call goes so well that the client says that they are keen to work with you, I used to believe the proposal wasn’t that important.
However, often, I got rejected by the client a few days later. Why?
I believe that it was because my proposal wasn’t as good as it could have been. I have found that while the client (and his/her team) is deciding whether to work with you or not, sending a proposal that is as good as it can be with a personalised video increases my chance of closing the client project dramatically. More recently, it has even helped me close a 10K client.
How To Generate Consistent Cash Flow | With Žiga Fajfar
For Episode 10, my guest is Žiga Fajfar, the co-founder of FlowOut Studio, the Unlimited Webflow design & development subscription service.
The failures with talk about in this episode are:
1) Focussing on the general market or niching
2) Pros and cons of fixed price projects
3) Being too attached to individual projects and clients
3 Inspirational Websites
Siricusa
This website has more flare and joie de vivre than Freddy Mercury in his prime. Love this typeface so much too.
Chicolle
Although I am no connoisseur of skincare, this website would have made my 15 year old self spend a few pickles on some cream for my terrible acne. Infinite marquee scroll, pops of purple and neon green as well as some cool polaroid pics. GLOWING GURL.
Editor X
Controvertial putting this bad boi in the Webflail newsletter. Why? Because Editor X can burn in hell - am i rite??! Joking dear webflowers. Anyway, love the soothing glowing blobs and presenting dry info in such a visually pleasing way.
3 Webflow Jobs
